Fishing | Nelson

adwas1381

Seabird Charters specialises in day fishing and diving trips at the top of the South Island of New Zealand - from Nelson to D'Urville and Stephens Islands. We also do day trips to the Abel Tasman National Park. Our charter boat provides all the facilities of larger vessels at an unbeatable daily rate.

Fish the legendary wilderness fishing grounds of D'Urville and Stephens Islands in the Marlborough Sounds. We have plenty of ideas for an amazing day's boating and can design half day or overnight trips to suit your requirements.

The top of the South Island of New Zealand is a wonderland for fishing and diving. We can head straight out of Port Nelson to where the fishing action is - and we know the best places! Trips include morning and afternoon tea.

Fishing

We are geared up to meet your fishing requirements: we carry all the latest electronics for locating fish, plus tackle and bait. We provide half-day adventures to Delaware Bay and Croisilles Harbour in the Marlborough Sounds. Blue Cod, Groper and Snapper are the most common species to chase.

Overnight package deals to D'Urville Island

We offer a unique package deal staying overnight at the Wilderness Lodge on D'Urville Island. Fish two days, targeting Groper in the Cook Strait and Stephens Island and stay in this special part of the world.

We can organise accommodation for passengers wishing to stay overnight at any of the remote destinations.

Diving

There is plenty of scope for the keen diver and a choice of different destinations; Tasman Bay, D'Urville Island, Abel Tasman and Glenduon Marine Reserves plus the outer Sounds. You decide!

We can accommodate 10 divers and 20 bottles per trip. Our Boat features a large dive platform. After diving, peel out of your wet suit and straight into a hot shower and be warm and comfortable for an enjoyable trip back to the harbour.

Scallop Trips

The season for dredging for scallops is July to February. Combine your diving skills with catching your dinner or just sit back and enjoy the spectacle of others doing the work for you.
