Sunfish Charters' 12 m purpose-built sports fisher "Sunfish 1" is designed to get you quickly and safely to New Zealand's top fishing, diving or cruising destinations while spoiling you with all the home comforts you'd expect from a true "blue water" cruiser.

You can rest assured that we have the local knowledge, commitment and skills to bring both the novice and expert into contact with the best fishing and diving New Zealand has to offer, while ensuring your safety and providing you with a memorable experience on board with Sunfish Charters.
Sunfish 1 is surveyed to operate from the 3 Kings Islands to the Ranfurly Banks. She carries a large array of electronic navigation and fish finding equipment together with the very latest and best Penn International reels and Kilwell "live fibre" game rods to maximise your chances of success. Sunfish Charters operates a strict Safe Ship Management policy and our charter boat is equipped with safety and communications equipment that exceed maritime requirements.
We offer full day or extended (live aboard) charters. The number of passengers we can cater for will depend on the location and duration. We are licenced to carry up to 18 passengers in enclosed waters, 12 passengers in inshore waters and up to 5 in the restricted coastal waters of the 3 Kings or Ranfurly Banks. The big cockpit can comfortably accommodate 6 anglers or 8 divers . The charter price for fishing trips includes the use of the latest top class fishing gear for big game and bottom fishing but you are also welcome to bring along your own fishing equipment and other supplies of your choice. Please let us know if you have any special requests or needs and we will do our best to accommodate them. For "live aboard" charters, you are encouraged to bring along your own sleeping bags and you are free to arrange your own catering but we can provide full catering for $40 per person per day.
